Izard County Animal Rescue Effort (ICARE) Shelter

The people who care for and place these animals are absolute angels!! They are truly doing God's work. The dog we adopted was so perfect, we went back the next week for his littermate! ICARE volunteers take such wonderful care of the animals and treat them like their own. The facility is incredibly clean, and they socialize the animals as if they were in their own living room, with their own pets. I will forever adopt all future pets from ICARE in Melbourne!! Thank you all so much for your commitment to these sweet creatures. I pray God blesses and provides for many years to come!

A wonderful rescue that goes above and beyond for all the animals in their care. I have personally volunteered here and watched these people put their heart and souls into saving these animals and trying to get them into forever homes. AnMarie has been who I’ve dealt with mostly and she genuinely cares for every animal there, along with all the other ladies and men involved. If you’re looking for a new furry friend, I highly recommend!! They’re always looking for volunteers too, for anyone who has complaints or suggestions on how things should go, please feel free to go help out! ❤️

We love ICare. Both my husband and i volunteered there. AnMarie was our trainer and she was so helpful and amazing . We ended up adopting our sweet Matilda as well. So happy to have a place for these animals forgotten and forsaken to get 2nd chances .

Anmarie and the entire crew (shoutout to Adam) were and are AMAZING. They love the puppies and kitties they take care of and you can tell. They're absolutely doing the best work out there and I felt are the best place to get good care and homes for animals. I'd give them a hundred stars if I could for their care with me and with the kitty I had to leave with them, absolutely wonderful people doing Wonderful work! They got Murphy fixed and vetted and a home!

I love this place and the people who volunteer their time here. AnMarie, Brian, Sheila, Joyce, and so many others are some of the kindest, most giving people I have ever met. It takes an insane amount of work (all voluntary) and love to do what they do. It can be exhausting, but they continue to do it day in and out with a smile on their faces. Myself and this community are so thankful for ICARE and its volunteers! If you’re thinking about adopting here, please do. Don’t listen to the negative comment falsely bashing one of the nicest people I have ever met. They love these animals so much.
