I have to admit, I was a bit of a skeptic. I adopted a 10 month old husky, shepherd, Great Pyrenees rescue puppy. I had always adopted older dogs, I had no experience with puppies and I was in over my head and needed help. After meeting Julia I had a great feeling about her, but still wasn’t sure my stubborn puppy was going to change. I picked him up a week ago and I can’t even believe he is the same puppy I dropped off! I thought it would take a long time to notice a difference… but in just a week I can see the change! Julia answered all my questions via email, phone & in person before I committed to school. She posted pictures of the dogs playing and training. I felt Daisy was safe, working and playing hard. Training is not guaranteed. In Dec 2024, 2 year old family dog bit my 8 year old boy on the shoulder due to 4 year old girl having a snack around the dog he should not have. The injury to my 8 year old boy was very mild and did not break skin because the dog stopped his attack without intervention. This was the first time the dog had ever attacked anyone in the family. We sought out Julia Langley/McCarty at Island Canine Academy for training. She was aware of the attack and that we have 3 young children and guaranteed she could help us. She said her services were guaranteed or we would not have felt comfortable paying the huge amount of $2000 for 2 weeks of dog training. The dog was at Julia's facility from 1/10/25 to 1/24/2025. The dog did learn the commands as Julia had stated. H
