Ionia County Animal Shelter

I was so impressed by the level of care I saw when I visited the shelter to look for a new four-legged family member. The employees were kind and helpful, the facility was clean, and the dedication to their animals was evident. The employees went above and beyond to arrange a meet and greet with my current dogs, and they were incredibly gracious when it wasn’t a good match. I am very grateful that there are dedicated folks to be there for these pets when it certainly has to be emotionally exhausting. Many thanks to this organization!

We adopted Luna back in April and she is simply the best. She was so well taken care of at the shelter and she's absolutely feeling comfortable in her home now and her personality is finally starting to come out and boy, does she have a big one. She is the perfect for for our family

My 3-grand-dogs were in a car accident with my daughter. Thankfully, all are well. But while she was traveling by ambulance to the hospital, the 3 dogs were also being taken where they would be cared for at the shelter. I'm so grateful that our pups had a safe place to go after that traumatic experience. It was such a relief to find them in such good hands!

The operator was behaving inappropriately towards me and my mother when asking her to bring out someone who could capture our poodle or to set out traps. We have reported this inappropriate comments to the sheriff's department as well as the county administration. I plan on visiting the town hearings to complain regarding this issue. Not only did she say she wasn't going to "search the entire county" for one dog. Despite my dogs sightings being on 3 streets in the heart of Ionia. Literally MAIN STREET. She continued to sigh dramatically towards my mom and act completely apathetic about our situation. I am blind, and she basically said that I had to find the dog by myself, despite me being unable to go into people's yards or property lines. It would be inappropriate to ask someone to tres

I adopted my beloved mixed breed dog from Ionia County Animal Shelter in March, and I can't express enough gratitude for the exceptional care and dedication the staff exhibited. Their unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of animals is evident, and their hard work shines through in ensuring that every dog and cat finds a loving home.
