We adopted Fargo (black and white kitten) back in November, I believe. Hes gotten so FAT! They never told us he was a glutton! The staff are super nice, the shelter is clean, and they really make sure the animals are going to a good home. They took in a stray that was dumped in our neighborhood we tried to help, and it broke our daughters heart cuz at that moment she had her heart set on keeping him. Then we went back, and took a look at the pets they had, and met Fargo. Love at first site is an understatement. He is the perfect fit for our family and there was literally no adjustment period. They even allowed us to bring him in for shots and check ups when he got sicky. I wanted to update them on his progress. His name is Blot (like an ink blot our daughter is quite the artist) now, bu

I took a 15 year old female mixed dog there to surrender her over she was abandoned by owner. However she had been living in deplorable situation and was very neglected and had been abandoned by a pastor at the Huntington Central United Methodist Church Pastor Janice Odom and no charges was filed on the owner and the shelter had treated her for a few things and had referred me to take her to Ceredo Animal Hospital for X-ray of kidney where she had been urinating blood several months however they refused the bill and told me that I could surrender her back over to them and her being deaf and 15 I don't see her being adoptable which means they had other plans for her instead. I have 8 rescue animals at my house and thank God they are wanted and loved because no telling what would happen they

Horrible!! We went there to look at dogs and we blocked eyes on one certain dog a few years ago and they emailed us and the dog went to a rescue we was both sad but decided that we can go just look for anther dog and when we got there, THE DOG WAS STILL THERE!! we both was mad but didn’t want to argue and found another dog, They them selfs called us “approved applicants” and when we want that dog they said we wasn’t we gotta wait longer!! Like make up your minds we went to the scioto county dog shelter and found our forever fur baby and couldn’t be happier!! I don’t suggest this shelter unless u wanted confusing staff no idea what there doing. And here’s my questions 1: why send a healthy dog to a rescue when people was actively trying to adopt?? Isn’t your whole thing to find them good h

you know how it feels to raise 2 dogs from babies till full grown and have them ripped from you when you’re in a situation where you couldn’t do anything about it and then you then find them posted on the shelter website under different names then they have and you visit the animal shelter and don’t even such as get to walk them because they are a “3” but somebody else who has no idea how they are or even act can walk them and love on them right in front of your eyes, you also tell the people who work at the shelter that they are your dogs and you then have to apply and you apply over and over and over for a whole MONTH and then you call and get the same response every single time. this place is the worst, and the people who work are very rude in every way possible. i shouldn’t even have t

Terrible experience today.. my husband and I took our daughter to adopt some kittens today an upon arrival we filled out a form and was walked over to the facility they hold the cats in by a VERY HELPFUL Volunteer ( I didn’t get her name) upon arrival there we chose 4 baby kittens to adopt and was told the was “too young” to be adopted out they need another 3 weeks with their mom and we could do an online application and put their specific names down ( we did that) then we was told there’s no guarantees we could get them, we then added 2 more kittens to the application to take home today an we was then told they hadn’t done intake on them an they want ready although they had already been named an an tagged on cage. We was then told to walk back across the street and speak with Courtney who
