Barry took on our opportunistic puppy that had developed some behaviors that were undesirable and entirely our fault. We had frequent updates on her training and progress while she was with Barry. He worked with us at our home to help also train our family to be better dog owners. Our pup returned with very solidified commands, and overall better behaved! Couldn’t be more pleased and recommend Barry and Hunt Country Canine highly!!
Barry trained our 4-year-old chocolate lab, Stella, for 3 weeks and did a fantastic job. He truly understands how to train dogs and ensure obedience without punishment, but instead with positive reinforcement. After spending time with Barry at his farm (doggy heaven), Stella came back an even better version of herself. She’s got her spunk and sweet demeanor, but now has better manners. My husband and I (and Stella) would recommend Barry and Hunt Country Canine to anyone. 5 stars!
Barry Magner is a phenomenal K9 trainer. He is gentle with the dogs he trains and can customize his approach depending on your dog's needs; this is called "training the dog in front of you" and it's a rare quality in canine trainers that are committed to a single technique. Barry has demonstrated excellent professionalism and he is a trusted agent within the canine community. I highly recommend Hunt Country Canine for all of your dog training needs.
At six months old, our large labradoodle, named Murphy, was a handful. Letting him off the leash was risky since he didn't reliably come when called.Taking him for a walk was a struggle as he constantly pulled. On the recommendation of a friend with beautifully trained dogs, we brought Murphy to Barry. After meeting Murphy, Barry assessed Murphy needed about a month of boarding training, which we went ahead with. At the end of training we received a happy, well behaved Murphy. To keep him that way, Barry provided us with some training tips. Since then we've had no problems with Murphy. He doesn't pull on the leash, he comes when he's called, and more generally he pays attention to us. We've received numerous compliments on Murphy's training, including from his veterinarian who requested
I was delighted and felt really comfortable with Barry training my beloved best buddy, Red, my English Springer Spaniel hunting dog, either with me or by me leaving Red with him for training. Barry’s number 1 objective is the dogs health and not to over train a dog to their detriment, really important to me. Both Red and myself improved tremendously with the hunting training and we look forward to the next session. Many thanks David
