Humane Society of Parkersburg

I've used their SPOT clinic and cremation services and have always had pretty good experiences with them. When I have cremations done, they are usually done in a timely manner. We've mostly had cats cremated at HSOP and it's about $50. As for the SPOT clinic, they did fine for my male dog when he got neutered. They were really sweet to him, in fact, they honestly adored him. Also, they were reasonably priced, I believe I paid like $50 and a deposit of $30 for that appointment and in addition to the neuter, he got a nail trim and microchip.

My mom wanted to check for kittens today. First off they said it wasn’t kitten season. Never knew there was a kitten season like deer. Then we wanted to check out the small dogs. On the way out some worker came and said you need to leave this area. I was like why. They said you need to fill out a form and to be accepted before you can look at the dogs. In all my years and dogs I’ve adopted I’ve never needed to fill out a form just to look at them. They make it hard for ppl to save these dogs. It’s one of the craziest things I’ve come across.

The staff were all so kind and friendly. It was seamless to adopt our new cat Fuzzball now known as Martin.

This place is just very unprofessional and unable to communicate with customers correctly. I had a tragic experience with them and will never be back. They showed no gratitude or compassion towards me when they were the ones who performed their duties wrong and lied to me. If you don’t want to be disappointed then do not come here. Go to the Marietta location.

My littlest brother goes there every year for their summer camp and is really sad he can’t go this year. The camp gives the kids so many hands on learning experiences. He’s learned so much and he’s fallen in love with so many wonderful dogs. They help train dogs so that they will be more appealing to adopters. One year there was one dog in particular that his group had trained at camp, her name was baby. Baby is now an official member of our family and we couldn’t ask for anything greater. We’ve never had a dog before, but she was just so perfect, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity. The humane society really helped us with making the adoption process easy and getting all her shots and chips.
