I tried to surrender a dog given to us months ago because I am disabled, my husband has his own health issues, and our Great Dane is not fixed and really doesn’t care for her. The first time I called I was told I should have left her there in an extremely neglectful situation. When we tried again two weeks later they still wouldn’t take her. Now my schizophrenic son is so angry at them and the people who threw her away his rage is focused on her. We tried to send her to the animal shelter in Branch County, MI but now we have to go get her despite me explaining all this and try to find somewhere else to put her. My son assaulted my husband over this. I called the cops on him, but my husband sent them away. Tell me, still think we should keep her? The staff I spoke to needs to be replaced. P

This is an example of a small, inadequate amount of staff in a less than ideal facility working against adverse factors they cannot control, to provide a degree of care for animals in suboptimal conditions due to underfunding, ignorance, indifference, and refusal to ALTER your animals or properly contain them so they aren't "lost". How much less would shelter staff have to struggle with if folks just altered their animals if nothing else; far, far less. I came to take one of the wee dogs from a hoarding case of months ago; these gals have been struggling with these extreme behavior cases from that sick situation since AUGUST while having to also do all the regular chores required to maintain the rest of their animal residents who would not be there if not for irresponsible, lazy and idiot

I adopted my dog from the Humane Society of Noble County in November 2024. I was told he was a Border Collie mix and estimated to be 2–3 years old. Fast forward to now — I did a DNA test through Embark, and not only is he 0% Border Collie, but he's also only 1 year and 10 months old, meaning he was just over a year when I adopted him — a full year younger than what I was told. Cross referencing Countryside animal clinic told me he was born in August of 2023. Because of their inaccurate (and possibly fabricated) information, I spent hundreds of dollars trying different foods and care solutions tailored to Border Collies that never worked — because he’s not one. Just adopted a little dog from there today. The ladies were very nice. Definitely recommend adopting from this facility.

We adopted both of our pups from here. The employees were so kind and helpful, and really wanted to make sure each pup was the perfect fit for our family. We visited a lot of shelters when we were looking to adopt and they made the process so much easier. From meeting dogs, playing one-on-one, to having our pups meet for the first time and taking them home! Would definitely look here first in the future.
