I can't say enough about Harris County Humane Society. The Entire Staff, Volunteers, Foster Families, Board Members are truly passionate about not only helping the Community, but the Shelter Animals. While adopting what I call "The Miracle Belgian Malinois Litter" that were left abandoned, when Harris County Humane Society received a phone call, they didn't hesitate and did what needed to be done to get these babies not only the medical attention they needed, they also made sure they had supplies to help keep these babies alive. The Foster Families, Volunteers etc. jumped in and took them in, Board Members also took the time and help out, keep in mind this was right at Christmas. It's not just with the Malinois, its all their sweet babies, from Kit Kat, to Apollo and so many others. The

We adopted our sweet Walter from The Humane Society of Harris County and the experience was top notch. Laura was very professional and answered all of the questions that I had with confidence. It's obvious that they really care about the fur babies that are in their charge. It was a positive experience and I highly recommend them if you are considering adding a family member with fur.

This animal shelter needs to be shut down and closer to civilization and / or needs better management. Soo many kittens are there with no health clinic checkups. The kittens and cats are sick with eye boogers and respiratory infections. The worst animal shelter I've ever set foot in. It's dirty and needs to be sanitized and remodeled with better rooms for cats and kittens with cat trees, toys, litter boxes instead of tiny azz cages. The dogs don't even look healthy. BESIDES IT BEING UNSANITARY, THE WORKERS THERE ARE NICE AND SEEM LIKE THEY CARE, BUT THE MANAGEMENT OR WHOEVER OWNS THE SHELTER I HIGHLY DOUBT IT.

Throughout my years, I’ve seen many shelters—but the Humane Society of Harris County truly moved me. The staff were kind and took time to share about each kitten’s personality, which made the experience feel so personal. The facility was spotless, and the kittens’ cages were clean and cozy. It was clear these animals are deeply cared for. I left feeling hopeful and grateful for the work they do. Highly recommend for anyone considering adoption or looking to support a great cause.
