Humane Society-Barron County

Barron Humane Society is wonderful. Their staff is kind, knowledgeable, and deeply committed to helping animals in need. They handle every case with care and compassion, and our community is better because of the work they do. Highly recommend supporting them.

Updating my review: We now have a new addition to the family from Barron Humane Society. We got Cheddar a year ago (August 2024) and love him so much! Isabella and Cheddar have their own personalities and we are so grateful to have both of them 😊 Both times we filled out applications and got approved in a timely manner. Every experience has been welcoming and kind! You can tell how much care and effort goes into each animal that comes here! I hope everyone can have a chance to find the pet that will change their life for the better 🩷

Don't adopt from this place. • Under staffed (phone hardly gets answered • Me and my wife live in Springbrook, WI (48mins one way away) no understanding or respect for us or how far we have to drive • Staff was extremely rude, and discriminated against me, I live with high functioning Autism and have extreme anxiety and depression. I'm naturally a loud person because of my Autism . And I was trying to get clarification and info, because we were not hearing anything back. And was denied an a dog who loved me and my wife because they considered my Autistic enthusiasm volume and disrespectful and abusive because I was loud and tried to call multiple times for answers and didn't want to drive 48mins in -27°F weather.

The people that work there are great. Very caring for all the pets in their care.

Got a kitty for the home.. 3 months old. Very well behaved, and affectionate. The gal was great! Explained everything we needed.
