I recently adopted my cat, Bob, from a Humane Society in the Pittsburgh area. After adopting him, I immediately took him to the vet, where everything initially came back normal. Tragically, less than two months later, Bob was diagnosed with feline leukemia. I understand that this organization does not currently test for feline leukemia. However, I firmly believe that this is a practice that must change for the sake of future pet parents. The heartbreak this has caused me is immeasurable. I have reached out to the Humane Society multiple times regarding this situation and, to date, have not received a response. With great heartbreak comes great advocacy. Even if this organization chooses not to acknowledge my experience publicly, they must understand that situations like this have a profo

Everyone was super friendly & super helpful while we were in the process of adopting another dog. They were patient with our current dog, who is older & doesnt like to play much, inorder to help us find another dog that would fit in just right in our home. Both dogs now love eachother!

Idk what I was smoking when I left a positive review. They got super sick dogs and even sicker people. Go elsewhere. Maybe try lower on the map or over in Ohio. They have great dogs. And friendly foster coordinators (hint hint). And the cat Caleb was sick when I got him and needed intensive care to be the cuddle buddy he is today with my two other cats. This shelter is gross and doesn’t know how to love animals and tend to their sickness and disabilities. Edit: I got a dog from Ohio. A healthy and very loving pitbull. Don’t settle for this shelter. Go out of state to find healthy animals. And respectful people. Also, you can actually see the dogs and not just outdated photos.

One of the most frustrating places I have ever dealt with. We adopted our two kittens from this organization, but scheduling their annual checkup has been a nightmare. After struggling for weeks to find a Saturday appointment, we finally booked one but never received a confirmation. When we called to follow up, no one got back to us. On the day of the visit, we called again to explain that our Uber was running about 15 minutes late, and were then told we would be charged a fee for each kitten, with no other available appointments for the next two months. I even offered to take time off from my job at a university in the medical field to accommodate their schedule, but this did not help resolve the situation. It is deeply disappointing to experience this with an NGO we trusted, especially w
