House of Hounds

Our puppy Beau has been going to House of Hounds for about four months now and it has been an excellent experience. He is currently 10 months old, and this was his first daycare experience. He absolutely loves going! The socialization wears him out in the best way. He comes home happy, exhausted, and content after a full day of play. Beau gets so excited when we pull in, which says everything about how much he enjoys being there. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Shout out to Lexi and the team for always taking such great care of him. They know Beau by name and even work with him on small obedience skills like sit, wait, and off. I can’t say enough great things about House of Hounds in Nitro. These folks really do love every dog that comes to stay with them. I had an unexpected work trip come up and on top of the normal stuff to get out of town, including boarding my other dog, I had to figure out what to do with my Frenchy girl who had recently become paralyzed in her hind legs. She needs diapers, special care, etc. And she prefers to be glued to her human 24/7 over dog company. My normal boarding place didn’t think she was a good fit anymore after her change, so I was stressin’. I called House of Hounds and Lexi answered. I don’t have enough to say about how grateful I am that HoH exists! My dog randomly jumped into my car one day and he’s been with me (more or less, after going through every step to locate an owner before adopting) ever since. I sincerely love my dog (we are best friends) but he is incredibly weird and high maintenance, every single person who has watched him overnight has declined to do so again due to his…. odd behaviors and peculiarities. Which is where daycare/boarding comes in! He has been going to the Nitro location for years and has formed deep and meaningful relationships with the staff and other dogs there. We have used grooming services with House of Hounds in Charleston for years. As our dog Rose has aged (15) she has become less cooperative in being groomed. HOH staff is so supportive and does such a wonderful grooming! I really don’t know what we would do without them. Friendly, compassionate and they always go the extra mile for their clients. We have also used their boarding services for our mini Aussie in Nitro and we were very satisfied!

I really appreciate how clean and well-organized everything is, and the vaccination requirements give me confidence that it’s a safe environment. I LOVE that health and safety is prioritized. It shows they genuinely care about the wellbeing of all the dogs in their care. Knowing that every pup is protected gives me real peace of mind when I drop mine off.
