Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue & Sanctuary

Such kind volunteers out at the ranch! They are sweet, fun loving, so very caring and want to see you happily leave with your new fur family member! The entire ranch and large visitor stations are clean and inviting to visit with each dog of your interest. We spent 2 hours with 3 different dogs in this relaxed environment. All of the dogs are so well taken care of medically and emotionally. We left happily with our 14 month old boy, Jasper. Amazing organization volunteer run!!

Edit: added photos! We came looking for a potential service dog candidate for myself. Staff were friendly and patient, open to answering all of our questions. We had concerns as we had a second dog, a small 15lb rat terrier mix and we wanted to ensure a smooth, safe transition and a good personality mesh. When we had tried the SPCA they were very resistant to introducing our little guy and our potential pick. Not at here. They encouraged us to bring him along and helped with a slow introduction along with feedback. We never felt rushed and even as the months ticked by they randomly sent paperwork that had been found such as a spay certificate. Week after adoption some minor health issues popped up (dog was very fearful and hid them well) and they were able to help us through that. 8 m

We adopted our beautiful golden Winston in 2022. Homeward Bound helped us identify a good match for us, and we went home with an older boy who had sadly been abandoned without collar or tags. He is friendly, sweet, and eager to please. Reactive to dogs on walks, which we're working on. Many thanks to HB for rescuing Winston, rehabilitating him, and bringing us together.
