Holy City Canine

Update to my original review (Google doesn't allow to post more that one): Since posting my review (below) this place has tripled down on being one to avoid at all costs. Most importantly, I was very saddened and troubled to learn that a perfectly healthy 1-year old pup named Kiba died within 8 days of being at holy city canine in May 2022. This is extremely troubling and I feel awful for the owner – the most likely explanation is that the dog was left in a hot crate for days on end without food or water. I asked the person who runs this place if the dogs ever leave the property and if he has an email receipt of ordering the correct food but did not get a response, nor was I reimbursed for the destroyed bed – no surprises there. Sasha was my son’s dog, he had 2 had to get rid of one after 3 years. So hubby volunteered. Now Sasha was a wild child with few if any manners. A strong prey drive. We agree that we don’t have time at home to train her anymore than our son. We have 2 other dogs one old one little and we needed to fit Sasha to their behavior. Oh and a killer cat. Jonathan and Jessie did a great job. Told what to expect and how to use controls. She walks by my side now she recognizes I am not a sled to be pulled. Eating in kennel is a plus. It gives the others a minute to settle in on supper. This husky has a huge appetite my old girl peckish. My little don’t share. I can now trust Sasha in my house with my others when I am not home.

It’s been about a year since I took my dog to Holy City Canine and it has truly changed my life. My dog had boundless energy and strength that I couldn’t control. I didn’t trust him around other dogs or children and I didn’t know how much more I could take. I took him to holy city canine for about 5 weeks and he is a new dog. He goes everywhere with me, hikes of leash, plays with dogs, and is great with kids. I am so grateful for Jonathan and all that he did.

We trusted Jonathon with our 6-month-old puppy for what was supposed to be a 21-day board and train program. Instead, he kept her for 40 days, gave us almost no updates despite weeks of begging, and made constant excuses. We received no videos or evidence of actual training. When she was finally returned, she was filthy—her eyes were bloodshot, her ears were packed with dirt (our groomer said it looked like what they see in dogs found in the woods), and she was extremely anxious. Worst of all, she came back with zero training progress. We paid $4,000 and lost over a month of precious bonding time with our puppy, only to have to start over ourselves. I can't say enough great things about Holy City Canine! My puppy, Prince, received exceptional training here. Jonathan's personalized approach really stood out—he went at Prince’s pace, recognizing that, like us humans, dogs learn differently. The care and attention he provided gave Prince the confidence he needed to develop excellent manners and behaviors. I am beyond pleased with the results and so grateful to have found Jonathan and his team.
