My wife and I donated very substantially over the years and adopted from them twice. A year ago we took in a colony of 4 pregnant cats that produced a dozen kittens. We had ALL -- mothers and kittens -- spayed, neutered and given all shots plus vet care, which was a VERY substantial expense. I recently I appealed (three times) to HUA to help us find homes for four remaining cats, to save them from the coyotes that roam the neighborhood. I was told in NO uncertain terms that they would NOT accept cats. That, despite their website advertsing their cats for adoption, and their professed no-kill policy. I was trying to save these cats from death by coyote, but nothing I said, nor the years of donations, made any difference. I am more than angry. Ifeel used and betrayed. It's a shame that HUA's

This place is wonderful! Their staff does amazing caring for the animals and they are so helpful in answering all questions and concerns during the adoption process. We have adopted 3 dogs from here and they are the best dogs ever!

Called to book a spay for my cat. The receptionist was rude off the jump and only got more rude as the call went on. She made me feel as if I was an inconvenience and I ended up just hanging up on her due to the amount of disrespect she has in her heart. The way she treated me was very unprofessional and I didn’t feel as if it was a safe place to leave my animal. I was recommended this clinic by a friend who had nothing but good things to say, and after I shared my experience she admitted they lost her as a customer too. I will never recommend or take the time to come to this clinic! Hope you guys as a business can take this into consideration and teach your employees how to treat customers.

In 2016, we adopted our sweet Izzy (formerly known as Sally Skull) from HUA. It's been nearly 10 years, and we continue to be impressed with this organization and the loving commitment of the volunteers and team. They are a no-kill animal shelter near Omaha and Lincoln, with plenty of volunteer and support opportunities. They even made it easy for us to introduce volunteering to our kiddos, which they loved. Dogs truly become family members, and we can't imagine life without Izzy. Thank you for making that possible. If and when we adopt again, we will undoubtedly work with Hearts United for Animals. Thank you for all you do!

This is a great rescue. We have rescued 4 dogs from them. I see negative reviews from a donor, who thinks their donations over the years meant HUA was obligated to help them with feral cats. You stepped in to help the cats and HUA is not obligated because you have given donations. if you donated to the SPCA, would you call them demanding help because you donated to them? Just because HUA is more accessible and smaller, doesn't mean they need your abuse. Another bad review from a person who thinks a rescue is obligated to save their cat. No one is obligated or has unlimited funds to help every injured animal. if you can't afford to provide medical care, don't get an animal. The only blame lies with the owner of the cat, not HUA. Hang in there HUA, all of you are doing great work.
