Belle, our 14-year old Tuxedo cat, was recently given a terminal diagnosis. Staff at Haywood Animal Hospital patiently worked with Belle's spicy disposition for many years, providing amazing care for her. Dr. Jones was the main veterinarian we worked with during most of that time. During the last week of Belle's life, Dr. Wilfert and Andrea, Vetinarian Technician, worked closely with us to provide the best quality care for Belle. Dr. Jones, Dr. Wilfert, Andrea, as well as all the other caring staff at Haywood Animal Hospital, treated Belle and our family with great compassion, concern, dignity and professional expertise as we made the difficult decision to lay Belle to rest. Dr. Jones, the vet techs, and front staff were all very kind and helpful. Dr. Jones explained everything in detail. My sweet, darling kitty had a fatal diagnosis, and we had to cope with that. Dr. Jones struck the perfect note of empathy and professionalism. He gave us lots of information and choices and confirmed but did not direct our choices. He was kind enough to tell me my cat's diagnosis was not my fault and to assure me that he had no qualms as a doctor giving this last gift of compassion to my kitty when we had decided euthanasia was called for. It's hard to explain how sensitively he led us through the whole process of diagnosis, attempted treatment, and the final goodbye. I felt Laddie was in good hands. Do not hesitate to bring your little friends here! Dr. Jones and the staff of Haywood Animal Hospital are friendly and welcoming. We had a great experience bringing our little lady in for an emergency when we couldn’t get in with our normal vet. Dr. Jones gave us peace of mind and walked us through her treatment plan. Hazel, our cat, normally has a really hard time at the vet. However this visit was smooth and not long winded. Hazel was calmer than we have ever seen at the vet. We attribute this to three things: 1.) Being able to accompany her in the examination room. 2.) Dr. Jones calm demeanor + experience. 3.) Swift and well executed exam that was thorough, but not long-winded. Hazel is a happy camper and we will be back! :)

We have been utilizing this clinic for our Doodle’s care ever since we moved to Hendersonville, 9 years ago. I chose this clinic because of the proximity to home. We used to have Dr. Coleman. I loved his demeanor and care for my pet. Then, there was another vet that I had some issues with. But, that was during the time when I could no longer tolerate the scented air due to chemical sensitivities. So, my husband began taking my dog for me. Recently, I have been able to return to the clinic. I am writing this review to express my thanks to the new Dr. and her assistant, Alexandria. They both showed genuine compassion and care. We’ve been bringing both our pups to Haywood Animal Hospital for the past 5 years to see Dr. Wilfert. We had a yearly check up appointment set for my 2 yr old lab, when we started noticing she was limping a little and they were gracious and moved us up a week. Yesterday, we noticed that she wasn’t putting weight on her back leg at all, and we once again called and they saw us in the afternoon. They handled the yearly and the issue with her paw (which turned out to be an infection) at the same time. They have been amazing every time we’ve had an emergency, and the staff are caring and so sweet to our crazy pups.
