Before ever meeting John , I purchased a Boxer puppy from a breeder. It was very challenging with teething, nipping, jumping and pulling like most puppies do. I saw John's web page and decided to give him a call about his free evaluation and basic dog obedience board and train program and John called me back and explained the program to me and took the time out of his busy schedule and just explained the reasons why my puppy could be doing the things he was doing and it was nothing out of the ordinary. Well after that call I new John was the trainer for my boxer puppy . John is a true professional, very knowledgeable, he cares deeply about the dogs that are under his watch and his staffs watch and I can say my dog is so happy going for his follow up training lessons that were included
Exceptional results- John helped us with board and train for our overly rambunctious Golden Retriever who would just not ever "get it". I honestly thought there was no training him. Our dog went and spent a few weeks with John and we picked up a whole new dog! Our dog is happier, obedient, knows how to play with children, adults and even other dogs now (the training did not involve other dogs so we think this is just a by product of a now well adjusted dog). John saved our lives and gave us the best gift we could have asked for. A lifetime buddy who can now safely enjoy his family, long walks and play time. Charlie will be back for refreshers. Thank you John and team. You are truly exceptional.
Last Christmas, my husband & I brought home two 9lbs male British Labrador puppies. The helpless little fluffballs quickly grew to be 70lbs tornadoes of chaos that were deeply bonded to us and eachother. While they did not have any issues with typical littermate syndrome or basic obedience, they were highly territorial and protective of us and our home. While they were wonderful with our family, they were highly suspicious and unfriendly to other dogs and people. We had complex expectations of our dogs.. we needed them to live in a Manhattan apartment all week long and be city dogs in every sense of the word- friendly to people and other dogs on the street, be good in a dog run, stay home alone while we are at work, go for walks with a dog walker without being aggressive. During the week
We had an amazing experience with Leo’s board and train. He came back with lifetime skills and a solid foundation for future success. I also learned so much from the trainer, John—from proper techniques to the correct way to use the tools Leo needs to succeed. Throughout the process, I was sent videos demonstrating the training methods, and once Leo completed his program, we had informative sessions that taught us how to properly handle and control him at home. John and his team truly care and take the time to educate both the dog and the owner. I highly recommend John and his team if you’re looking for professional, knowledgeable trainers you can trust with your precious pet.
I chose to consult John on the recommendation of other dog trainers. I have had German Shepherd dogs for several decades and they require particularly skilled training. I acquired a young dog that I felt I needed help with training. John impressed me with his experience and deep understanding of dogs and his read on mine after a very brief introduction. I left my 15 month old male GSD with John and his staff for “basic” training. I am SO HAPPY that I did. Not only was he superbly trained, he was extremely well cared for; clean, nails clipped, calm. He gained a confidence and connection that I was seeking in his development. He is doing very well at home and out-and-about now in off-leash obedience. We are going back for more training as the dog craves the work. Thank you John Soares and St
