Customer Reviews
We cannot thank Guiding Canines enough for their help with our Frankie girl! We did the 4 week board and train to work on resource guarding with our Great Pyrenees and Val and her husband, Caleb, were amazing! They worked tirelessly with our girl, sent frequent pictures and updates, and treated her like one of their own. They were great about working on training in different environments as well…out in public at stores, at the park, in their home, to expose the dogs to different situations. We really appreciate all the hard work and training, as well as the feedback they gave us and tips/tools to work on at home. We are continuing to implement the training they started, and have seen a ton of progress with Frankie! Val is also very responsive, and continues to answer any additional questio
Working with Val and Caleb was truly one of the best decisions we’ve ever made for our Gia! We came in with a very difficult dog and felt overwhelmed, frustrated, and honestly unsure if things would ever improve. From the very first session, it was clear we were in expert hands. They are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and compassionate. They didn’t just “train our dog”—they took the time to understand why our dog was struggling and gave us clear, realistic tools that actually worked, so basically helped train us too. Everything was explained in a way that made sense, and we never once felt judged for where we were starting. The transformation has been amazing. Our dog is calmer, more confident, and finally responsive in ways we never thought possible. Just as important, we feel empow
I sent my dog child Jolene to Guiding Canines for a board and train. After adopting her and her being my first puppy, I wanted to make sure I got her off to the best start as possible with training and socialization skills. She went off at 9 months and it was the best decision I made! I have had experience with dog trainers in the past and had adopted difficult dogs with behavior issues previously so I had a decent idea what I was looking for in a trainer. I was anxious to send Jolene off because I'm that kind of helicopter dog mom, but Val kept me updated constantly with pictures and I could tell she was being loved on by her and Caleb just as if she was at home. My grandfather was a veterinarian and I have worked with animals my whole life so I notice small behavioral/physical changes ve
My dog Rocky went through the 4 week board and train with Val back in 2023. We have also attended some of the group sessions she started offering this past year. I can honestly say that without Val's help, I probably would have had to re-home my dog. He was found on the street at around 8 weeks old and quickly became a handful and I wasn't sure if I could do it. She helped so much and continues to do so. Val and her husband Caleb are two of Rockys favorite people and he loves to go there when I'm out of town. I've never been fond of the idea of boarding at a facility that will keep him in a crate all day and only let out to go to the bathroom. With Guiding Canines he gets to play with her dogs and always comes home exhausted!! I also love that she sends me photos and videos while he is the
Valentina and Caleb were our saviors when we got an Australian Shepherd and hadn’t had a dog in years. Harvey did the board and train program and is the best boy. He amazes us everyday and we owe it all to Guiding Canines. When he goes to board when we go on vacation he is sooo excited to see Val and he gets reinforcement training while there. Win. Win. I can’t recommend them enough. I carry their business card in my treat bag because everyone we come across says they can’t believe how well behaved Harvey is and want more info.
