Absolutely positive experience. Looking for a Cockatoo fell in love with a couple, 1 already had an application on her and the other wasn't super friendly but both really beautiful. There was a nice selection and could have chosen another species but just going to wait until the right one comes into the facility. This is a really great group of people who work and or volunteer here. They were very patient and knowledgeable. We thought about purchasing from a pet store or breeder but Leslie explained the benefits of bird adoption and it made good sense. Birds can live a loooonnnngggg life our bird was 29 when he died 2 years ago. So we're going to be patient in the hopes on our next visit we'll find our new family member.

Birds are over priced plus buying a cage from Them…. I came and had a couple birds I was very interested in . Now I know birds cost a lot but telling me some of the birds cost up to $1000 when I can go to a reputable breeder and get one for $600 or less fully vetted And telling me that the bigger birds, they usually don’t adopt out … Paying over $1000 for birds that were either relinquished or found some may have been abused or had not been in the best care is absurd The volunteers act like they honestly don’t want to adopt the birds out to anyone … but I really hope strawberry and sugar and Maui find great homes they are my favorite I wish we could have been a family

This volunteer powered mot for profit provides loving care for caged birds who can no longer care for them or who are just unable to provide good homes. Vounteers give loving care to 100 or more birds fom finches to macaws. Become a member and enjoy the knowledge and resources of this community. Don't buy pet birds at a pet store. Adopt a rescue. Donate generously! Volunteer if you can.

These people are saints. I was treated with care and respect. Thank heaven that there are people and organizations like this. The care and concern I saw for the birds was amazing . Donations are accepted here. They .need them too. All volunteers at this organization.

I’m sure everyone works really hard to take care of all the birds and they make lots of effort to keep things going but I’ve been very disappointed with how adoptions have been handled. On 11/11/2023 we put an application and send a video (tour of our home) as requested in application in efforts to adopt a parakeet. Keep in mind that completing application , scanning document and converting it to requested format as well as taking time to record home video, making sure all the bullet points requested by rescue to be in a video takes time and effort ( we did it because we carried and wanted to take in a bird to give it a home). After few weeks I did reach out via Facebook to follow up in regards to our application but so far no one responded or even acknowledged our request. It’s bee
