Over the years, I was mostly happy with this vet. However, I brought my sweet golden retriever in about 7 months ago after she was clearly not feeling well and not eating. The doctor seemed confident that nothing serious was at play, so she sent us home with antibiotics. Cleo passed away a week later after undetected cancer in her spleen ruptured. She went into cardiac arrest over night and I found her unconscious, limp, and barely breathing. We rushed her to the ER, but there was nothing they could do to get her back. She was only 8 years old. It was devastating and I miss her dearly still. Gosh I hope my review pushes that number all the way to the five star rating. This is a very busy location and there is good reason for that. Apart from them being the only local veterinarian that service is livestock in the area, they are efficient and prioritize you and treat you and your animals with the care needed. Today it was a little bit of miscommunication around my medications getting filled for my goats, but when I inform them of my circumstances and need to get it done quickly they jumped on that and prioritized me and within the hour called me back to let me know my prescription was filled and ready for pickup. They acted fast to resolve the issue and I always feel that's very worthy of bragging on people about. No one can be perfect, it's how you handle the moments of miscomm

We are so thankful for Great Plains!! We had to bring a young goat kid in and then a nanny goat a few days later. We didn’t have an appointment scheduled, but they worked to squeeze our goats in between other appointments. I thought the goat kid wouldn’t make it, but after two days in their care, she is doing great! The front desk staff was friendly, the staff helped unload and load our nanny goat, the office and large animal areas were VERY clean, and Dr. Heatly called me each day with updates and recommendations. I was also very impressed with how reasonable the bills were for everything they did for our goats. 5 stars!!!!!

What a great crew, they work well together, the vets are the best and I would say even though they shine in their chosen field they shine brighter with an amazing support staff.

I would give this place a 10 star review if that was an option!! The staff is amazing! Everyone was so kind, considerate, and helpful! I took my sick kid in and they were able to work me in as a walk-in without a problem and worked with my budget as well! I will definitely be taking all of my pets here from now on! Thank you wonderful ladies!!!
