Great Lakes Dog Rescue

My family visited four different shelters while on the search for a new furry friend, and I was blown away by the compassion and commitment of everyone we encountered in the rescue community. Great Lakes Dog Rescue was no exception. The director was incredibly responsive to my questions and went above and beyond to schedule a meet and greet. While we ultimately did not find the right match for my slightly neurotic beagle here, I was incredibly appreciative of the effort they put into finding forever homes for the dogs in their care. Please don’t hesitate to look at this wonderful organization when adding a new four-legged family member! Adopt, don’t shop!

If you're looking to adopt dog, you got to stop here first! As I walked through, they had many amazing dogs and I wanted to adopt them all but they introduced me to Mia and I fell in love with her on the spot! The staff gives their dogs lots of loving care and attention and you can see that it is genuine! Highly recommend them! I am so grateful to them that they rescued her from a shelter where her life could have ended!

We adopted from Great Lakes dog rescue last October. The communication was awesome before, during and after the adoption. We still stay in contact! Highly recommend them for finding your next four legged friend!

We found our sweet pup online. The staff were wonderful! Robin took the time to speak with me several times on the phone prior to my visit. She didn't disregard my application based on my location (came from Indiana). The facility was busy but you could tell everyone there loved the dogs and they took the time to learn about the potential adopters. I was truly grateful to have been chosen to adopt my sweet girl!
