Golden State Hay

Golden State Hay recently moved and with the move has new ownership. From what I understand, a wonderful large family with many children owned it previously, and now transferred ownership. I had a horrible experience there this morning, when I went to buy materials for our 4H lamb. I have a 5 month old newborn, and also two young boys (3 and 2) and I asked if they had a chair anywhere in the shop to nurse my baby. I was told they would get me one in the back, and I waited 5 minutes with a fussy, hungry baby so decided to sit on a bucket and nurse, which was discretely done so under my sweater. The female owner came out and told me to nurse in my car, and I told her no, seeing that my baby was currently nursing. As I was checking out, she said "In the future you cannot nurse in her. Every time I come here I have an outstanding experience. The family owners are always so incredibly kind it’s clear they have huge hearts. The multitude of animals they have (goats, pigs, chickens, dogs, tortoises, etc) are extremely affectionate as well. These are the type of people I like to give business to.

I got a couple of pullets right before Thanksgiving. They are good hens and the buff orpington has been giving me the best eggs. The French copper Maran is just about to start laying. I also picked up dog food for my German Sheppard and treats for my hens here. I think it is family owned, customer service and prices were great!

Love this place! They moved to a new location which is much bigger-Barnyard off the Hwy 126. They havel feed, animals and farm supplies and such a great ambiance. Family ran operation and I hope they stay in business.

Well, don't go looking for a roadside sign or address number you can find. There is no visible sign from the highway that says "Golden State Hay". google maps directs to old location- had to call to get directions from old location- then re-cross Hwy 126 twice- gee, thanks. Got there and tried to find med solutions- thought since place was empty maybe someone would ask if I needed help finding anything.... asked for help- pleasant enough, but not what I needed. Saw some cute clothing, with hangtags that looked like it was made in U.S.A. but inseam tag shows made in China. what a waste of time, fuel, and ridiculous to have to cross 126 twice- good luck getting out of driveway back onto 126. What kind of business doesn't have a sign with their advertised name? would NEVER have guessed
