Golden Compass Canine Training

Golden Compass is wonderful and I cannot recommend them enough. We adopted our dog, Rollins, from a rural shelter thinking we were getting a mature, 2 year old gentleman. Once we got home and he decompressed we realized we had something closer to an 8 month old wild adolescent. Even though we are experienced dog owners, we were in over our head and did the 8 week Expedition course. Honestly, I do not think that we would have survived without Kayla's guidance those first few weeks. She taught us how to manage his energy and help him be the best version of himself. After lessons finished Kayla has still been available for additional support (there have been many texts exchanged) and we will likely continue to have her do day trains if/when progress stalls or we need to brush up on skills.

My husband & I recently completed multiple training courses through Golden Compass for our 11 month old, chocolate lab Otto & have nothing but wonderful things to say about this organization! Between puppy preschool, day training & the e-collar program, we now feel very confident in Otto’s off leash skills, recall & ability to socialize safely with people & other dogs in public spaces. We no longer require a harness when we go out & have no more issues with leash pulling. The trainers, Lauren & Kayla, are wonderful teachers who seem to truly care about helping each & every dog become the best version of themselves. Golden Compass has been incredible for Stella! We started with puppy school, where Kayla was so cheerful and helpful. Stella learned basic commands and we gained valuable knowledge on grooming, structure, and socialization. After that, we continued with Off-Leash training (again with Kayla), and now Stella has fantastic recall and loves her newfound freedom outdoors! We also enrolled in Agility 1 with Lauren and Shelby, who are so passionate about the sport. It's been a great way for Stella to burn energy, while also building confidence and coordination. Stella also LOVES her structured daycare days. The facility is clean, safe, and the staff is fantastic. I tried other trainers in the area before I made the switch to Golden Compass Canine Training and I am SO thankful I did! They are hands-down worth the investment! Their training transformed Jax, (my dog) and the follow-up support through structured daycare has been invaluable. The team genuinely cares, making sure every lesson sticks and that progress continues well beyond the initial sessions. For anyone who wonders if the cost is justified, I can say the results and the peace of mind are priceless. Golden Compass offers incredible, lasting value for anyone serious about their dog’s development. Jax has also lost 10 pounds this year from running on the treadmill at structured play! He loves it!

I just finished the expedition program with my 3 year old golden retriever and couldn’t be happier with our outcome. Before our training, I thought we were going to have to live with Dillon’s puppy-like behavior forever. He was impulsive, no leash skills, no recall, and was always getting into trouble! Kayla helped change all of that for us and now Dillon is so much more well behaved and a joy to have around! Walks are enjoyable again, he’s able to chill out when we need him to, and he actually comes when we call him. I couldn’t recommend Golden Compass and specifically Kayla as a trainer more!
