Golden Acre Kennels

I trust Sam and her kennel when it comes to watching after my furry family members. My husband and I went on a long weekend trip and it was such a relief not to be worried about my dogs. I knew they were in great hands and would be treated just as good as I would treat them! I love that Sam cares about the health, safety, and well being of all the animals that come through her doors. When we got back to our dogs they were happy to see us but obviously had been well loved and well cared for while we were away. I would definitely board here again!

I’ve been bringing my dog Katy to Golden Acres for the past three years. She loves going there and when I ask her, “Do you want to see Sammy?” she starts wagging her tail & heads for the door. I appreciate their loving care when I go out of town, I have ‘peace of mind’ that my baby girl is being taken good care of and seeing photos posted on FB help a lot. I look forward to those photos! Bella loves staying at Golden Acres. Plenty of play with other dogs supervised by caring staff. I enjoy the videos of the dogs at play. I feel comfortable leaving my beloved dog here.

We utilize Golden Acres for boarding our two Australian Shepherds. They do a great job keeping us updated to anything with our dogs. Love that they often post to their Facebook so we can see our dogs having a good time or enjoying a nighttime treat. They offer stuffed Kongs for a nighttime treat for extra cost but a little treat we know our dogs can enjoy while they’re away from home.

Just a few days after Labor Day, 2024, we used this facility as we were camping with our 18-yr-old Chihuahua mix in the area. On a whim, my husband and I decided to take a boat trip in Munising which would have left our little guy in the camper for too long alone. The late afternoon before our trip, I called Golden Acres Kennels. I was greeted on the phone with professionalism and concern, along with a wonderful opening for them to accept him for day care or if at the last minute, an overnight stay. On our arrival at 9 a.m. the next morning, the facility was very clean, nicely laid out, and very nice staff. We brought his bed and kennel and food along to keep him content. They were very accommodating for his quirkiness, and his less than friendly behavior for other K-9s. We were able
