Gilmer County Animal Shelter

Come adopt a dog or a cat from here! It’s a no-kill shelter. They have a great veterinary team that provides all the vaccines and will de-flea and spay the dog on arrival to the shelter, so they’re ready to go home with you. They also have a great volunteer team that gets the dogs used to being around humans, playing in a yard, going on walks. So many loving fur-babies ready to be a part of your family.

Can’t thank everyone at Gilmer enough for helping us find the perfect match for our family. The process was wonderful and you can tell they care so much about the dogs in their care and where they end up.

Bob & Princess Sasha have been taken care of very well. The shelter was very clean & the animals all were well taken care of by the wonderful staff. Ann was awesome letting me spend time alone with Bob & Princess Sasha before adopting them!! Thanks for all you do!!

GCAS is severely underfunded, yet this is one of the most rewarding shelters I've ever been to. The staff care about the animals, and I found the most amazing dog, Bunny, there, and my friend found an incredible dog there as well.
