Back in 2009, I took my Chihuahua there with parvo—they kept him five days, no visitors, no pain meds. I had to rush him to another vet who fixed him in twenty-four hours. Years later, in 2025, same dog was dying. I gave them another shot—got there before lunch, they said fine. Then after lunch: “Oh, now it’s emergency hours"—(big price difference) No warning, no apology they did nothing helpful. They have changed since the new vet bought it. I called this morning because my regular vet is out of town and needed my cat looked at ( belly is really big) just looking to get her a check up, they made the appt. then called me back to cancel the appt and refuse service due to me walking out after the " emergency hours " incident. My mom took me to see Dr Whalen and Dr. Boyce a few months ago because I had some really strange symptoms. They quickly examined me and found out I had a life-threatening condition that required immediate surgery. They also discovered that I had heartworms and arthritis. Was scheduled for dental surgery but I decided to get a second opinion. The second doctor took one look at my dogs bloodwork and told me if he was put under for surgery he might not survive it. When I called the office to speak to the first doctor she would not talk to me. They wanted me to make an appointment. When I told them about what the other Dr said the secretary called me back and told me the other Dr was correct. So there charge of $1,100 was more important then the life of my dog. Just think about this. Money is all they care about. Not the life of my dog. How disgusting this place really is.

Everyone at Gates is so wonderful. Have had them as a vet for all my extra big dogs. Sorry Dr Peggy retired, she is missed! But love the whole crew there. They really care.

Ive been using them for years. They are really helpful, nice, and so sweet to my little dog (which is the most important part). Highly recommend!
