Furkids Animal Rescue & Shelters -Headquarters and Cat Shelter

Great local shelter. We were there for an event in their event room. Had a chance to see the cattery, and new construction going up. Beautiful campus. Dog shelter looks it will be great too.

My Grinch heart grew three sizes after volunteering with FurKids Pet Adoption in Cumming, GA through my job. If you love cats and dogs and have time to give, I highly recommend checking them out. The campus includes a small dog unit and a beautiful, state-of-the-art cat facility just down the road. The love, care, and attention these animals receive is truly next level. Just be warned — you might leave with a new best friend. That fluffy orange cat in my photos? She’s mine now. She runs the house. If you’re interested in volunteering, reach out to Kate Gorman — she was a phenomenal point of contact. My team will definitely be back for more opportunities to help (and maybe accidentally adopt again).

Furkids cat cafe and venue has 200 adoptable cats and is very well maintained. The grounds offer a beautiful place to host an event including ponds, fountains and a small waterfall. I would highly recommend visiting this facility. I have plenty of wonderful photos but I'm having difficulty getting them to "post."

Volunteer Annelie was a horrible representative of FURKIDS. She was referred to us by a friend of my daughters to get a cat we were babysitting spayed for the owner. Annelie came over to pick up the cat and thats when the NIGHTMARE began. We were telling her that the cat recently gave birth and suddenly became overkill interested in seeing what was left of the litter. Annelie was really pushy about seeing them and told us she could tell us what the sex of the kittens were if we showed her. So we took her to the room where the kittens were. Then Annelie adamantly insisted that we let her take them to immunize them and PROMISED to return them with the mother on Friday. One trip taking care of spaying and immunizations in one trip. The next day, she tells my daughter via TEXT MESSAGE that

Great shelter. Great Shiloh Gardens and the new cat facility. Comedy nite last nite so fun and I believe raised at least $5,000. Can’t wait for the next one!
