Friends of the Animals

This shelter was incredibly responsive and I heard back on my inquiry the next day. I had to drive out a couple hours to meet my new dog but so glad I did because this organization has the best intentions and truly cares about the animals. They are also helpful with transitioning the animals into new homes. Overall great experience and I highly recommend them!

We are so happy to have found Marilla (now Maggie) through FOA! The reason we chose her was not only her sweet picture on their adoption website but also the excellent write-up they posted describing not only her physical heath (vaccinated, chipped, neutered, etc) but also her personality. She is exactly as they described, and we love having her join our family❤️

We adopted our sweet puppy, Brecken, about 3 weeks ago. As someone who has volunteered at various shelters, I really admire their application process. It’s obvious that they want their pets to go to good homes. We drove an hour, and we were honestly worried about coming back empty handed. However, they were transparent with us over the phone that it was a first-come, first-serve process, and they don’t “hold” their pets, so we understood. We came in looking at several puppies, and they gave us honest feedback on all of them, so we could find the best fit for our lifestyle. Brecken is about 4-months old and he’s wonderful. When around new people and dogs, he quietly sits and observes. The vet also commented on how remarkably calm he is in new situations as a puppy. His calmness is greatly

They moved fast to get our adoption completed. I sent my application, was approved, met our lovely new cat, and brought her home all in the same day! They gave us advice for helping her adjust to the new home, and let us know we can always call if we needed any further help. I've worked with other rescues before and can say this is a great group doing great work to help animals find their forever homes successfully. Thank you for helping us complete our family!

This is the 2nd time we have adopted from FOA, both times were wonderful. The staff are helpful and know all the animals personalities. We recently adopted a cat and he has been great!
