Staff was informed, helpful, and diligent in connecting pets to be adopted, with loving homes. I was kept informed of prospects and allowed to observe interactions with my dog. As painful as circumstances were giving my dog up, the process and results helped me accept it knowing my beloved dog continues to be loved and cared for as I did. Highly recommend FOTA.
⭐ 1 Star Review Title: Poor Communication and Unfair Adoption Process I applied to adopt a dog from Friends of the Animals over a month ago, and the experience was extremely frustrating. My first application was denied because the dog needed someone home most of the day, which I understood. I applied for another dog and was told I didn’t have a fenced yard—even though I do. I went back with photos to prove it. After confirming my yard was fenced, the director said the next step was a home visit. She asked about my previous vet, but since it’s been over 30 years since I owned a dog, I couldn’t provide records. She said that was fine and promised to call me. I never received a call. I followed up multiple times by phone and email, even calling from a different number. Eventually, I was tol
Only If a zero was possible Unfair adoption process, please you’re looking into adopting go somewhere else you’re gonna discriminate on where I live. dogs need good home that should be all you care about you don’t know anything about me as a person or how I would handle a puppy. I’m trying to adopt. and besides, the staff was not that friendly, and the prices were outrageously high with them not having too much of information pertaining the puppy it’s felt like if they don’t like the color or your skin or where you live or if the area is not up to their standards you don’t get to adopt. I live in a very nice area most of my neighbors where I live on my street have puppies or dogs and I have a nice fence backyard These people are a joke so please if you’re looking to adopt please go somewh
If you’re looking to adopt a dog from Friends of the Animals, PLEASE READ!!! This past week, we visited this location to meet a dog we had seen online. When we met him, he was extremely well behaved and tame. After a second meeting, we filled out all applicable paperwork and brought him home. After getting him home, his behavior gradually became worse, and he began showing signs of aggression when around food, toys, etc. He would jump on tables and run off with entire plates of food, and then growl and snap when you try to get him away. The first evening, after this establishment had closed, we received a call from Adoption Coordinator Paula stating that while we had met him, he had been sedated with Trazodone. This is extremely manipulative and dangerous. The dog we had met eight hours pr
Saw this place driving down the street and decided to stop. I fell in love with one of the pups so I decided to put in an application. One of the questions asked if there would be other dogs in the home. I told them I didn’t have any other dogs so I put no on the application. After, she asked if I had any dogs prior and I said yes so I had to fill out the other portion of the application. After I turned it in they asked what vet my previous dog went to and I told them the dog was for my ex and he handled everything but he went to banfield pet hospital for all of the dog’s needs. Didn’t think anything of it until my application got denied the next day because my ex’s dog (which was not mine and was not coming to live with me) didn’t have any updated shot records. I’m confused as to what tha
