Friends Of Perry Animal Shelter

Yesterday we picked up Waylon. He is the sweetest dog and is perfect for us. The shelter folks are awesome and the process to adopt Waylon was extremely simple. He is acclimating with us and has already checked out every room in our house. He is still a little skittish, but with every passing day, he will forget about his past and enjoy the future with us. There are ton's of shelter dogs that could use a loving home. Stop by FOPAS or go to their website. You may just find your next new friend there.

The shelter manager obviously hates her job. Anytime you message her about a pet she leaves you on read for several days and then responds, or never says anything at all. It takes two seconds to send a text. When you call up there to try and get information about a pet she respond's with "yep" like ur bothering her when all she had to do was respond to a text that took two seconds to send to let you know something. Very rude and unprofessional. I won't be spending $140 of my hard-earned money ever again to adopt a cat to support a business who acts this way towards customers. Not to mention me and my fiance have adopted a couple cats from them already before this current shelter manager came along, and have helped them with two adoptions previously. Never again!

If i could give 0 stars i would. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ADOPTING FROM THIS “SHELTER” Very poor communication. Very poor customer service. Inattentive staff that didn’t even acknowledge me when i walked in to try and adopt a kitten. I made an appointment to get a specific kitten. I drove 30mins just to be told the kitten i wanted was already adopted. 0/5

We were just looking and were amazed how clean and organized the shelter was. There are only two women that work there and I was amazed. We rescued a female pit mix named Claire. I loved the name so we didn't change it. She is a great companion. We love her. She is SO smart.

Freaking worst experience of my life. We found a puppy pitbull 3 months ago and she started becoming aggressive towards our other dogs. I called Perry Southern Rescue and the first thing I asked is if they are at capacity. The woman on the other side of the phone was like well...for what kind of dog....I explained the situation and she was like oh no, we can't take her....why would u pass her on to someone else....we have a hundred and something dogs (with a very rude attitude...) I about cursed her out, because that's the first freaking thing I asked....and to answer ur question as to why we would pass her off....bc we love her so much and she is so precious and my heart can't handle putting her down....but thanks to ur rude response, I feel like that's my only option.
