Franklin County Humane Society, shame on you. I just got to drive my 10 and 12 year old daughters home, crying their eyes out. We drove up here from Lexington to visit with this dog “Oreo”. I called before hand to make sure she was available and they were open with the roads as bad as they are. We visited with the dog, and my girls fell in love with her. Took pictures with her. I spoke with Molly, and another lady whose name I don’t remember. Made it clear that we wanted to adopt her. They said there was a procedure to be followed, and they had a lot of applicants. They said that it would be necessary to have a meet and greet between Oreo and the dog that we already have. I told them that was no problem, that I would take the application with me and that my wife would fill it out on the dr
I absolutely love this Humane Society! They make sure that every single animal is tended to and is a NO KILL shelter! Which is amazing! The staff is so friendly and will make sure that the Animals are in good hands even after adoption. My kitten had some antibiotics that were needed and they paid for the checkup visit and the antibiotics. Taylor on the staff is my absolute favorite and I could talk to her for Hours. Not to mention how clean this entire shelter is!!
This humane society will let someone else adopt a pet, after another family has fallen in love with and started the adoption process on a dog and sent them home to get their other dog to make sure behavior is good between them, just to show back up with their family and dog to see the dog they are about to adopt getting into another vehicle with someone else. And all they said was it’s first come first serve. Thank you so much for the heartbreak of the two little girls who watched the dog that was supposed to be their new family member jump into the back of someone else’s car!
We already have enough animals where people drop them in the country so we didnt adopt. We go to get our animals fixed with vouchers they give out sometimes. Its a BIG help when we have 25 cats now. It can be under $50 per cat which is awesome.
They have a new facility and it is absolutely amazing! We helped with the move from the old facility so we had the opportunity to receive a tour. It is state of the art and the animals are absolutely going to love it. The staff were extremely excited and passionate about what a positive change this new location will have on the animals.
