For The Sake Of Being Humane Rescue

I had originally contacted FTSOBH, looking for our newest family member. We are a very active, dog centered home, training for and participating in canine sporting events. We are also committed to finding our dogs through rescue programs. My experience with Ashlynn was the best that I have ever had with a local rescue. Ashlynn understood what I wanted in a family member and dog sport partner. I’d say she found us the perfect match! Ashlynn was both very professional and understanding through the adoption process. We can’t thank Ashlynn and FTSOBH enough for Brooks!

I filled out an adoption application form about 2 and a half months ago at chow hound, the pet shop this shelter partners with, and it was never responded to, and the cat I wanted got taken by someone else during the time I waited for a response. I emailed and all inquiring about the holdup, but to no avail. I filled another adoption application 2 days ago for another cat, knowing that they would probably not ever get back to us and the cycle would repeat.

We had a great experience adopting our puppy from For the Sake of Being Human in 2023. They reviewed our application quickly and we could tell they really care about their dogs. We talked to some other rescues that seemed sketchy but this one puts a lot of thought into making sure their dogs go to a home that is the right fit for both owner and pet. Our dog is almost 1 now and loving life!

I adopted my dog Sable in 2020 from For the Sake of Being Human. I had heard good things from a close friend and was looking for another dog to add to my family. The process Ashlynn has is great at finding the right fit for you, as well as making sure the dogs are being put into good homes. Ashlynn is such a hard working person and truly puts her all into this rescue.

We adopted our dog Willow from for the sake of being humane in April 2023 and had the best experience! Fast communication, thorough information about her wellbeing and behavior, and super friendly staff. They do an excellent job of making sure all dogs are loved, taken care of, and healthy. They also do an excellent job finding the right placement. 10/10 would recommend!
