Flat Collar K9 Training

We sent our pointer to get just basic obedience training a couple years ago and came back a different dog! Maddie and Will were super nice and professional! Would recommend to anyone needing a trainer!

My baby boy (photo attached) boarded with Maddie at Flat Collar. He is a shy Heeler who doesn’t readily adapt to new people or situations. With Maddie he seemed to immediately take to her and is always excited to visit for a training session. She’s helping Canelo to stop herding children. As sweet as he is, he seems to have a penchant for nipping tiny human heels. She’s assisting in turning him into an upstanding canine citizen who isn’t a menace to tiny humans. I cannot recommend her enough to care for your own fur babies. We have further training to do in his child herding tendencies. And we will update as progress occurs.

I struggled to find an experienced trainer who truly understood my quirky German Shepherd—until we worked with Madelyn. We started with private lessons because he was reactive with other dogs. He gained solid obedience, reliable e-collar walking skills, and learned to peacefully cohabitate with an older dog in our home. A year later, we completed the 21-day program, and he’s truly a different dog. He understands boundaries, responds consistently to commands, and his training made introducing a baby into our home so much smoother. We’re so grateful for the structure and peace Madelyn brought to our family.

My dogs boarded with Maddie over the Christmas holiday. I raise Belgian Malinois and needed to board them with someone who has the knowledge and experience to handle the breed appropriately, especially my feisty older male. Maddie sent me regular updates during their 2 week stay and my boys were happy and healthy and relaxed when I picked them up. She even managed to put a little more weight on them which is a feat in itself as they are not easy keepers. I highly recommend Maddie and the whole team at Flat Collar K9!

I adopted a 5 year old German Shepherd from Madelyn, owner of Flat Collar K9, who was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional in her handling, approach, and care for her animals. I have also received one on one training sessions with her and my new K9 to ensure a seamless transition from her home and training to mine. We have worked on basic obedience and learning to process through stimulating events like kids, people, and other pets around and still being able to listen and follow commands.
