First Ladies Farm and Sanctuary

Such a wonderful peaceful experience. They are an amazing help to the rescue community. Thank you for everything you do. My furbabies are so very grateful!

I have adopted 3 cats from FLF, and I love them deeply. We come here, every few months, to see the kitties. They always have such a great variety of kitties to adopt. I just bought a jar of their Cowboy Candy relish, and it may just be the very best hot dog topping EVER. Thank you ladies, for all that you do.

These ladies are working very hard to take the best of care of so many animals! They are a true rescue and if you follow them on FB then you know how much work (and sometimes heartbreak) that can entail! They have a barn cat program as well as a regular cat rescue and adoption program. Often they are working shifts to bottle feed kittens, which isn’t something the local shelters are going to be able to accommodate, so they are literally saving lives everyday! They have a great volunteer program that sounds great for students who also need service hours but also want a real opportunity to learn so much! We visited during one of their Saturday farmers market fundraisers and picked up some fresh produce and delicious homemade jams and some homemade bbq sauce! So to sum it up, this is a wonde

TERRIBLE. I recently adopted a 9 month old cat from here who had all of his shots and wasn’t sick (so I thought). They also said he was microchipped and that I could easily register him. Well, I took him to the vet and the microchip was a company in Asia that I could not call. We all called the Sarasota vets animal hospital to see if he actually had all of his shots and turns out, he did not have all his shots. So, I took him to Noah’s Ark Animal Hospital and found out that he had a respiratory infection and also that he was 7 months on and not 9 months old. The adoption fee was $125 which I thought that was responsible because he “had all of his shots” which he in-fact did not. So now I’m paying $300 worth of vet bills for this kitten just to make him feel better. What an awful place!!!

God awful. I went to volunteer and pretty much everyone but the owner Claudia is beyond rude. They would not help up us with questions, would get angry and walk away, or make snarky comments about politics while we were trying to help. It is terribly organized with little to no support for new volunteers. Even when we were adopting a cat, they tried to kick us out of the cat adoption room. If you have not volunteered with them for multiple years, they will not be kind. They lie about the kittens vaccinations and very poorly keep track of their health.
