Junior is my go to guy here. He had loads of information on all types of creatures and animals plus furry friends. I purchased recently a tarantula habitat that includes a rad skull waterfall. Everyone loves it including me!!!! Thanks junior!!!

This place should not be allowed to sell live animals. Went here looking for feeders. They breed them in store, in gross and crammed conditions. You can see poop and food in the soiled bedding, there were 15+ in too small a space. They also had snakes in tanks with no heat or hideouts. Doesn’t take a zookeeper to know reptiles need heat source to stay alive. It’s just a pocket pet version of a puppy mill.

First i want to point out the fact this store was closed previously. The store name was "34 pet shop". The address is 3434 W Slauson Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90043. The low 2.6 rating was due to animal neglect/cruelty. They re-opened under a new name,new management but same cruelty to animals at same exact address. I came through saturday 9/26 looking for a guinea pig. There was a small tiny cage in back hidden with 8 guinea pigs stuffed inside. NO HAY. No pellets. 1. one guinea pig has an eye injury. half closed/open. 2. No food in cage. guineas were fighting i cant figure out why can you? 3. 1 water bottle for 8 guinea pigs is wild. half empty saturday, completely empty sunday and no attempts to refill. but they can refill a refrigerator with beer? 4. My 10-year-old son and I visited this store last weekend. There were two employees working — a younger man and an older gentleman — and unfortunately neither of them acknowledged us or asked if we needed help. The younger employee barely moved when we walked past him several times and kept giving me a strange look, almost like I didn’t belong there. I even asked if there was an issue because of the way he was looking at me. I was honestly surprised by how unprofessional the experience felt, especially since I was there with my child. A simple greeting or offer to help would have gone a long way.

Great shop, I came in a complete beginner and now have a new set up. Staff is very friendly, I spend way too much time looking and asking questions and they are more than patient with me. Variety of fish and the stock that they have is hands down more thorough than any of the major box stores. Thank you to the staff!
