Feather & Fur Animal Hospital

We love Feather and Fur! The staff is very caring and you can tell that they love animals. Our one dog gets nervous at the vet and they always make her feel comfortable and give her the best care. The office is very nice and clean. Their online portal make scheduling appointments and refills easy. They are also very helpful if you call them with questions or concerns.

I brought my 5-week-old macaw to this clinic after he swallowed a small silicone piece. I acted very quickly, and the baby was active and full of energy the entire time. As we initially discussed with the doctor, the plan was to remove the silicone piece from the crop using forceps. But for some reason, the doctor decided to put him under anesthesia and perform surgery (apparently, they didn’t have forceps narrow enough to remove the silicone). As soon as the doctor did that, my baby died — it was obvious. No chick that young can survive anesthesia or surgery, and everyone in the field knows that. This clearly shows the doctor’s incompetence. We were charged $900 for killing him.

Highly recommend! Our sweet black lab has been a patient here for many years and recently had a large cyst removed by Dr Cherish. Very smooth experience and the team took great care of our boy. I love that they don’t try to get you to buy their expensive food or urge you to get extra tests. They are not pushy at all. So refreshing after going to other vets who try to get you to spend unnecessary money. I wouldn’t go anywhere else on island!

My cat was suffering from a heart failure episode late at night so we took him to feather and fur to get him stabilized and in the oxygen chamber. We were aware of his condition and had been working with our veterinarian to manage his medications and hopefully give him a long a lifespan as possible. We provided his medical records upon admittance to feather and fur so they could get some background on his situation, but made it very clear that we were just there to get him stabilized and would be returning to our vet for additional testing and treatment once they opened the next morning and if he was stable enough to be transported. I’ve also found that they are very easy to work with compared to previous vets I’ve had - they message you text updates directly to your phone, answer questions immediately via text, and pick up the phone quickly. Great service. They also have a boarding service.
