Elmira Animal Shelter

This guy was in doggy jail for three days. They treated him great loved him.

I found a little new born kitten with the unblical cord attached. I was taking the baby to the shelter couldn't find it . I came across a young man on a riding lawn mower. I told him about the kitten he is told me where to go. I got there and a young lady was at the door waiting. Took that baby telling what she was going to do to take care of it. I felt alot relief.

Went in to look at pets and was given dirty looks and attitudes, for some reason Stephanie thought it was appropriate to yell at me for “making the dogs bark” when I simply stood in front of one’s cage and greeted it. Why be mad someone is giving attention to the animals? It would be one thing if someone was purposely riling them up, but how are we supposed to prevent them from barking out of excitement from attention ?? Do you guys ignore the dogs all day in hopes they don’t bark?? The people here seem power-hungry which is definitely not the type of people we want to run an animal shelter. We need compassion, if they aren’t giving it to human beings they aren’t giving it to helpless animals.

First time first impression.....Toooo many animals need homes! Center looks good in condition and animals look well cared for. Able to free roam around to see cats dogs in major variety. Same day take home in some cases others able to register for. Many peaceful animals ready for unconditional love! ❤️
