Elkins Park Boarding Kennels

I used to be pleased with this kennel. My dogs were excited to stay this morning. However, they completely went down in terms of communication and consistency. My weekend plans are ruined. Despite, me making a reservation for the holiday weekend in May... provided updated records and all via email several times. Not to mention we go to the connected Vet office so they know all about us. I was scheduled to drop off my 2 dogs this morning. The office should be open from 9 to 12. But I found that on holiday weekends there's a wait as others are dropping off dogs as soon as the office opens. So today we arrived at 9:30. I called and emailed and the office looked dark. Even if they messed up our reservation, I should be able to speak to someone. We waited til 10, just in case

Would give zero stars if possible. -My dog and his toys all smell like they just came back from a farm. Ask them if you can see the kennels if you decide to board your dog here. -My dog always pees a ton outside immediately after I pick him up (there’s a grassy area outside the front door). Makes me wonder how many times a day the staff actually lets him outside to relieve himself. -They charge by the day, so even if you drop off at start of business on Monday and pick up your dog at start of business on Wednesday, they charge you for 3 days.

Caveat emptor. We won't be using Elkins Park kennel anymore. The staff is very bad at communication, wasted my whole day. Taylor said the dogs would not be ready until 12. When we got there they were closed. Andrea said come back at 4 but they weren't open until 5. Then they insisted on contradicting me about what others told me. Worst customer experience I've had in years. Watch out for their prices! They don't charge you for nights there, they charge you for days. So you pay an extra day if they keep them 9 nights.

Extremely fair pricing compared to stop many other boarding places. It may have less frills but I don't find those necessary for a few nights of boarding. And since it's attached to an animal hospital I trust that if something were to happen my dog would be in good hands.

From closing Saturday to Monday you can not call & check on your pet. No one will either be there or answer the phone.
