Adopted our sweet 10 week old terrier August 29, 2025. Went to get her brother (Tramp) and discovered Lady (now Billie Jean). Spent 2 hours trying to decide what to do. Ended up with Billie and a rescue agency took Tramp and he now has a home. During the 2 hours of decision making, the staff was great. Thank you Staff and here is a picture of Billie, who is VERY smart, loving, and full of fun!

I have nothing good to say about this place. When my dog was picked up the man told me "he didnt mind shooting his own dog in the head & he damn sure wouldnt mind shooting anybody elses!!!" They have unlawfully taken 2 of my babies (dogs). We went to court for one & beat the case only for them to say we needed to pay over 2000$ to get him back that i couldnt afford :( They ran me in circles & wouldn't even let me see my dog the whole 3months they had him until the very last day :(

Early 2024 I had a terrible experience at the former location of animal control. I was overtly upset when an unfortunate incident led to my truck being towed and my dog being taken to animal control overnight. I was at the new building before it opened, and when they let me in I was greeted but friendly staff and more importantly to me at the time my dog looked content and happy when they brought him to me. Hope, one of the two nice ladies at the front desk, was extremely kind to me and showed love I didn't expect at all. Thank you to the staff for taking care of my little buddy, Fox ♥️

Adopted a little kitten about a month ago. She has settled in and follows me around the house. Sleeps with me too. She was well cared for and a happy, healthy kitten when I adopted her.

Wonderful staff at Duplin Animal Shelter! Their new facility has a great set up to be able to accommodate all the animals they rescue. We adopted two puppies from their facility and will always thank them for bringing our two pups into our lives. Thank you to Hope and the rest of the team for everything.
