Draxen Farms

We loved this place! We wanted to see if my cattle mix Millie would enjoy herding and she LOVED it. Mike and Maddy were so knowledgeable and kind. We had the best time watching my dog herd and hearing about herding in general. I really appreciate that they have this operation “just for fun” and there is really no emphasis on competition. Afterwards my dog was so mentally fulfilled she slept the whole way home. Definitely worth a trip, there is no where else like this. We will be back!

What a great experience! We enjoyed meeting other dogs and dog owners. The owner, Mike, is an exceptional trainer of humans and dogs. With our Australian Shepherd, he gave us great cues and tips and he provided her with wonderful sheep-herding opportunities! Mike saw with each run, our Aussie needed more challenge and spontaneity; by the third trial (on her first visit), she did a remarkable job, was so proud of herself and was so happy to be helpful! Highly recommend. Thank you for a great experience!

Mike is so knowledgeable and good with the dogs! We are definitely going back many more times! Our Cooper loved the experience!

Drove up from Parkland because I kept hearing great things about Draxen Farms, had to try it for myself! My 10 month old Border Collie had the best time with Mike and his team. Great people and over all a fun and relaxed day. Definitely bring some sunscreen and snacks too!

My dog Kona and I had so much fun at Draxen farms this weekend! Mike is so kind and knowledgeable and made us feel welcome, and took his time individualizing each dogs training and herding lessons. The dogs really have a blast out here. It’s a great way to exercise them physically and mentally. And it’s so fun watching all the dogs unique styles as they herd the animals. Bring water cause it’s hot. Snacks too and plan to spend a little time out here. It’s a lot of fun! Thanks mike for having us, we can’t wait to come back!
