Door County Kennels Inc

The owner of this business really is a nice guy! Although not very personable, I have nothing against him as a person! Unfortunately, the state of care at this kennel is unacceptable. When you walk into the office portion of the building, it strongly smells of urine and other unpleasant odors. The building also doesn’t have much natural light, so it’s very dark and dreary there (overcast weather didn’t help though). The kennels themselves are not comfortable environments whatsoever (see photos) and it didn’t seem that a single dog was at ease as I walked through the facility. It also seems that Dave may walk the dogs for a much shorter amount of time than he advertises (he told me 20 minute walks over the phone). I got to witness him take two dogs (larger active breeds) on a morning walk

We have been taking our dogs to Door County kennels for a very long time during our yearly family vacation for at least a week at a time. We travel over 4 hours with the dogs in the car rather than board them closer to home. Dave is amazing with dogs and you can immediately tell how much he cares about each animal. If you are looking for a doggie spa this is not for you. If you are looking for a place that is very reasonably priced, where your pet will be very well cared for and you will have the flexibility to visit and pick up your pet for family time, then I highly recommend Door County Kennels. We really enjoyed having our new puppy stay at the Door County Kennels. Dave was great and took amazing care of our little guy. The flexibility this allowed us to have our puppy with for the day trips and know that he is getting walked and cared for at night.

We love Door County Kennels! Our dogs are always excited to see Dave and always well cared for. We have peace of mind knowing that our dogs are happy and safe when we travel. Dave keeps it clean and warm. I honestly am shocked at Max’s review. Anyone that knows anything about dogs knows that some dogs like some people are overly anxious and get nervous in new circumstances. Some won’t eat, some get diarrhea etc. I assure you that any kennel has experienced this with some dogs. As for the pictures that Max shared, I think he took advantage of a RARE moment at the kennel and is trying to discredit the place for some reason. The owner really understood my dog, and gave him personalized and professional care. Walks that met my dog’s needs (and his laziness!) The kennels were well designed and private for each dog. I am grateful for good care for my pooch, and this redesign of an old dairy farm works well for a kennel!
