Dogwood Acres Pet Retreat

I’m just going to go ahead and update my review. DO NOT bring your dog to this place. Clearly some staff favorites. I decided to check on my dog on camera this morning and caught it right when a little scuffle was going on. I checked with them, everything was ok. He got put into time out, great. Fine. I continue to watch the camera, I see this dog that he got into the scuffle with bite other dogs in the neck. Flipping them over. Etc. Once he gets let out, I continue watching him minding his own business until this same dog decides to come instigate again. My dog gets put on the leash and walked away. Yet this other dog, AGAIN, gets to stay out. Finally they pick the dog up and walked away with it… only for 5 minutes though. I get a call that my dog and this dog got into a fight. My dog has

We boarded our dog Loki for two nights for our wedding on May 4th, 2024. He was groomed, dressed into his tux, and brought to our ceremony by Brea in the "Bark and Ride" van. He was the hit of the day!!! We toured the facility prior to booking his weekend stay. The entire operation is top notch and staffed by very caring individuals. Loki had never been "away" from home before. But after our tour, we felt very comfortable leaving him at Dogwood Acres!! He must have enjoyed himself. When we picked him up, he pulled us on the leash, trying to go back inside his new "home away from home"!

In July, I boarded my dog at the Davidsonville location for about 11 days. I chose this facility because she had stayed there before without any issues. Although I was initially hesitant due to their price increase, I decided to go with them, trusting she’d be well cared for. I paid approximately $800. On top of that, I had to pay for a mandatory bath. As requested, I made sure she had all her required vaccinations. However, when I picked her up, I immediately noticed something was wrong. She had a scratch on her nose and she didn’t look well at all. She had developed a severe cough, seemed to be choking at times, and was having trouble breathing. We have used Dogwood Acres 3 times now and each time Motley Crew comes home so we'll groomed and calm. I love this place, they message you if they feel your pet news extra live or care, or is just lonely, with suggestions to make them feel at home. If there are special events during your pets stay, they message you to see if you want them to participate while they are there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Motley will be back for another adventure at Dogwood Acres for sure. Thank you al so very much!

We left our 8 month old puppy, Tucker, at the Kent island location while going on a cruise. This was our 1st time being away from him, so we were super nervous. The staff took incredible care of him, sent updates and photos, and reassured us consistently. Tucker had a blast and we will definitely be bringing him back!
