Dogru Dog Training

When I decided I needed a medical service dog, I was concerned about the training process and what all is involved. I wanted to ensure my dog, Bella, an English Lab, would get trained properly, but at the same time I wanted to be sure she would be agreeable and happy with the process. I met with Kaitlyn in 2018 and decided to proceed with training based or her unique approach and skills. With the conclusion of Bellas training, I could not be happier with her training program. Kaitlyn has been amazing through the entire process from the start up to Bella’s certification. Kaitlyn gave me the confidence and helped me address my own anxiety throughout the training. She is an incredible trainer using respect and positive reinforcement. My dog is a well adjusted and capable service dog. She is able to teach the basics very well, as well as every advanced skill I have required of my dog. She is also able to work through issues. I would recommend her for anyone training a puppy, a companion pet (she is amazing with heel and other qualify of life skills for owners), or a service dog.

Our family used Kaitlyn as our trainer for our Chocolate Lab. She worked with our son and dog to become a Service Dog Team. We worked with Kaitlyn for 2 years. Over those two years Kaitlyn was a place of resource, learning, and a safe place for our family to talk about our needs. She addressed all our needs, thought outside the box, and was inclusive and responsive to our unique needs. The sessions are informative and she gives a lot of practice and direction each session. We left our Tucker with Kaitlyn several times for a week to learn specific skills, we feel he is safest with her when we are away. We can not recommend Kaitlyn enough. Kaitlyn is an amazing trainer! She trained my first service dog, Murphy, in 2014, and then his successor, Jenny, in 2022. She is patient, thoughtful and creative in her problem solving, and truly understands how the dog’s mind works. She teaches skills using only positive reinforcement, and clearly communicates her methods and reasoning so that we may continue practicing at home. She is a joy to work with, and worth every penny of her fee. Highly recommend!!!

I can't speak more highly of Kaitlyn and her impressive knowledge in dog training! We worked with Kaitlyn to finish out the training for my multi-purpose service dog. She was the first trainer that understood my physical and mental health challenges that made training my service dog challenging. I really appreciated that if I didn't understand how to train a task that Kaitlyn would show a different technique or explain it differently so that we could be successful. Our outings to Lowe's pushed my comfort zone. These real life situations allowed me to know how to approach situations that would inevitably happen alone in the future. I can't put a price tag on how valuable that was. It also allowed for an outside perspective of how my SD was actually doing vs how I perceived she was doing. I
