Karen has been the best teacher to our new puppy Khaki Sue. We call her the Dog Wizard/Whisperer. She is incredible when it comes to showing us how to train our puppy to be the most amazing dog ever one day. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about what she does which is a direct correlation to the leaps and bounds our golden retriever has made over her first 5 months. If you’re looking for a trainer, I wouldn’t go to anyone else.

I've worked with Karen on and off for 7 years. Basic obedience, competition, behavioral- she knows it all! My younger dog was a bad puller when I first adopted him. So much so that you couldn't even walk him on a leash. Karen solved this in 1 training session and we've been walking with no pulling ever since. Recently my older dog had started attacking the younger one. Karen also solved this in 1 training session and now we can all live peacefully. She knows how to communicate with dogs and once she teaches you how to communicate with them too, the opportunities are limitless. Karen is always professional, relatable and super nice. I've recommended her to clients and friends who've all had success with her as well! I've never had a dog problem that she couldn't solve.

We cannot say enough about Karen as a trainer and her wonderful facility for boarding. It is such a luxury having a worry free vacation knowing the fur members of our family are safe, receiving great training, and happy upon our return. Thank you Karen!

Karen helped so much with our shy little Sheltie. We let her stay with Karen for 2 weeks. While there she exposed her to a variety of other dogs and people helping her greatly to come out of her shell. We got her last year in March a 6 weeks age during the early part of. Covid-19 shutdown and limited our and her contact with others so she was not socialized at the most formative time. So after much time effort and failed attempts we turned to our professional trainer Karen Smalley . She built on the foundation needed to calm her fears and anxiety. We our happy and grateful for the results!

Karen definitely had her task cut out for her, when we dropped off our 5 month old Puggle, “Auggie”. He stayed with Karen to train for 2 weeks. We left a defiant and rambunctious little fury boy. What we got back was an incredibly well trained pup. She taught him all the basics and some extras. We were pretty blown away at how much he learned in those 2 weeks. We gave her a list of things we needed him to do, as well as not do anymore. She came through on that list 100%. She also spent time working with us when we picked him up. Showing us how to stay consistent with him in keeping the bad habits broken and the good ones strong. Karen was incredible with Auggie.
