Dillon County Sheriffs’s Animal Protective Services

The new staff are trying their best to provide the County the service needed yet it is an up hill battle with no shoes on. One must understand animal activists must fight legislation and those who govern. This facility is understaffed and overcrowded with animals. When an activist wants to fight this shelter they MUST TAKE those animals to their personal homes for care!

My cat was brought here from an accident that required me to get transported to the hospital by ambulance. When I picked him up later that day, he was covered in fleas and pee because he was left in a carrier in a public area without food, water, or a litter box. It only gets 2 stars instead of 1 because it's a shelter.

Very helpful and caring staff. My wife and I were traveling home to Pennsylvania from Myrtle Beach when we saw 2 starving puppies on the side of the highway and after multiple calls to a different shelter when after explaining the situation I was hung up on and ignored I called these guys and they were willing to take the puppies. After arriving and talking with the staff/volunteers we decided to bring them back home to Pennsylvania and find homes for them here. They provided us with a crate, food, blankets and pads for the pups for the ride home. They were so kind and caring throughout the process and truly wanted to help. Highly recommend.

It was not a good one i have been calling for a month about stray dogs tearing things up around my home and tearing off my underpending from my home. A mother dog went up under my home to have puppies and they would not come and get them after calling the sheriff and asking them to please come. The pound would not help me.

It's always a pleasure going to this animal shelter .they have helped me so much with getting my dogs spayed and neutered.the workers are very friendly and helpful
