Desert Hot Springs Animal Care and Control

We had a great experience at Desert Hot Springs Animal Care and Control. I saw Charlie online and I sent an inquiry, with an application. I immediately heard back from Danielle, the animal adoption coordinator, and we scheduled a meet-and-greet for the next day. We loved him, and though Charlie will be our fourth rescue dog, we had plenty of questions and they were all answered. There were no rough "sale" tactics and our decision-making was respected. We decided to adopt him! Later email questions we had were promptly answered by Danielle. Charlie stayed at the shelter for a couple of days to get his rabies vaccination, and he was ready for pick-up at the assigned day and time. We went home with a collar (we were offered a leash but we declined as we have many!) and many days worth of food

Such an amazing group of people! I just adopted Otto (now Clover) and the process was so easy and the staff were so nice. Clover is getting used to our animals at this current moment and he's very well behaved. Thank you guys!

Found a posting on Instagram about an adorable 1 year and 8 month old Great Dane mix. I emailed DHS animal shelter. They answered my email within 30 minutes. I received a call from Danielle within an hour of me sending an application. Danielle was very friendly, open and honest with me about the pup I was inquiring about. Danielle was very accommodating about scheduling a meet and greet. Once there she did everything she could to set us up for a successful meeting with Bronson. Needless to say, we fell in love with Bronson and adopted him. We are so incredibly happy and would definitely reach out to DHS for our next rescue pup! Thank you!

Really wonderful experience. I was looking to adopt a senior dog as a companion for me and my senior American Bulldog mix Carr a few months after my beloved pittie-mix Abigail passed away. I looked through the available dogs online, then send an email stating the dogs with whom I would like to do an meet and greet. Within a hour, the adoption coordinator Danielle called me back and an appointment was set. The facility in North Palm Springs is very well kept and every one of the staff and volunteers were helpful and seemed to really care about the animals. I met Little Girl and brought Carr along for the meet and greet. LG was 7 and had been through a lot. She was shut down and cowered in a corner. She did not interact with me except when I offered treats, but she had no interest in me oth

Martha is an angel. She helped me and my pet with compassion and understanding at a very difficult time. The lady at the front desk is just as wonderful. You can tell they truly care about your pet and not the money... which is so rare and unusual compared to most experiences I've had with veterinarians in this country! This place rocks in my book.
