Customer Reviews
Dr. Welch, Amanda and all the staff at the Damariscotta Veterinary Clinic have cared for all of our Boxers over ten years. Our aging pups passed away last year and we await a rescue adoption. No words can describe the compassionate care to extend the quality of life and our time with them.
My kitty and I had such a wonderful experience here. New in town, I'm so glad I found them. Dr. Welch took such good care of my cat and was very gentle and caring with her, and listened attentively to all of my concerns and had many good insights and suggestions. She and all her staff gave us so much time and attention and went above and beyond. Her practice felt more like family than a vet office. Amanda, her assistant, was also amazing, listening so attentively and caring for my cat. And, spent so much time with me on a follow up call. And, Donna at the front desk is the sweetest. She was able to get us in quickly and is so nice and friendly, as is everyone at this lovely neighborhood veterinarian office. Kitty and I look forward to returning! Thank you so much!
Did not run any tick-borne illness tests on our dog the when we brought our dog in with classic symptoms (now we know) of tick borne infection. We were told our dog was just faking us trying to get the good wet food. Dog got worse and a month later, still no tests, the Vet GUESSED our dog had lymphoma because she had swollen lymph nodes. The vet said "prepare your dog for heaven" because of suspected cancer. We did NOT like the lack of testing and took our dog elsewhere. Our dog had ANAPLASMOSIS as confirmed by a different vet clinic with a simple blood test. Our dog was not treated quickly enough and DIED because the treatment came too late. It was preventable and our pet was taken from us too soon. I would not recommend this clinic as no actual medicine is practiced there.
We board our two cats here when we travel, and couldn’t be happier with the care they receive. Our boys seem relaxed when they go in, and comfortable and well looked after when we pick them up. We’re very grateful for this service!
We have been clients for 40 years with our many cats and dogs. Our pets’ health care has always been carried out with skill, clear communication with us and with genuine concern for the best outcome. When a referral is indicated, it is made with highly skilled hospitals. We trust and have confidence in Dr. Welch and her staff who are also responsive and very helpful. Appointments are pleasant and enjoyable.
