Countryside Pet Retreat

I always feel comfortable boarding with Countryside. My mother in law recommended them years ago. It’s worth the little drive into the country!

Countryside is a great place to leave your pets. Jill does a great job. We have a black lab that is a fence jumping escape artist. Him and our other dog have stayed there a few times a week or so at a time with no problems. 👍👍

Jill is great! We have an elderly bully breed and Jill has always been dedicated to accommodate him. Worth the drive to know the same person will care for him every time and not some revolving door of part-time, inexperienced youth like other places in Columbia. Love her property too!

I would give Jill 10 stars if possible. This is a wonderful place for dog daycare and I am sure for overnight boarding as well. Jill really cares about animals and has may rescued pets. In addition to taking great care of our dog , Jill went out of her way to make sure we had a great time when we made our first trip to St. Louis. She provided travel and site seeing advice and even printed a map of the Metro Link for us.

I will not be returning to Countryside Pet Retreat. Jill was very friendly over email and in person, however I was not impressed with the facilities. There were only a few kennels and the overall building was kind of a mess. Half of the kennels weren't in use and looked very dirty. Now, the kennels that the dogs in were clean and looked OK, but I would have felt more comfortable if the whole building was clean. She did not tell us we couldn't use a card to pay until I picked him up and handed her my card-thankfully I had my checkbook with me, however I was planning on paying for the amount with a different count, which put is in a financial bind. The total ended up being over double what I thought it was ($48 for 10am on Saturday to 4 on Sunday.) and I was told that he had not been let out
