Converse Animal Shelter Inc

My husband and I adopted our newest family member back in September. Thank you Converse animal shelter for all your hard work and dedication for the animals. Our cat adjusted so well and came fully litter trained( no accidents which is huge). We will be back in the future when we are ready for another. If you can please adopt or donate they can really use it and they are so good to the animals. Shout out to all the loving are caring staff. They made sure they answered all of our questions before we made our decision.

I love the work this organization does. The shelter feels like a true shelter for the animals that come in. Both of my 2 cats came from here at different times. They are well socialized and get along well with others. Most of the cats roam around in the cat room and they can climb and play to their hearts content. They've been neutered, had all their shots, they insert a microchip and you get a coupon to get a free check up at various veterinarians. Definitely would recommend.

After going to animal defense league the day before and having a less then positive experience we were soooooo happy with how we were treated when we came here. The staff was wonderful in everyday. Like they actually talked to us and answered questions. The dogs had good sized dog runs and fences in-between so they could see eachother. Not just a cement 5 by 5 square. They let us have time with a couple dogs and even let us see them both together to see how socialized they are. Our new pup is wonderful and has been renamed Penelope... or Penny for short..... its only been a couple days but she is fully a part of the family. She is really my 22 yr old sons baby . There was a high frequency pest repellent device mounted in the main viewing area for the shelter. It is motion activated and goes off every time someone walks past. This is unpleasant for me as a guest, but also much more unpleasant for the noise sensitivite animals forced to listen to it all day. I would recommend shutting this device down during the day as its main purpose is to deter pests at night, and is no doubt causing a stressful environment for already stressed out animals.

I just adopted a brother and sister duo! So far, I couldn't ask for better socialized kittens who use the litter boxes every time. The cattery is the only part of the facility I visited. It's spacious and full of kennels and cat trees. All very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They also know their animals well. All the kitties appear to be sleek, sociable, clean, and happy. Smokey and Kiki are wonderful kitties. They even use the scratching posts. We've had them for three days and are in love. The process is very straightforward with minimal paperwork. Our experience is not unusual. The Shelter has a well-deserved reputation. Please adopt or donate. Be bold - do both!
