Great experience! We adopted a kitten from them recently, and because we live an hour away, they were able to hold him until we had a day off to pick him up! He's turning n g 6 months old soon, and he fits right in to our family ♡ Linda was so nice in helping with the adoption process! Anyways, we love this kitten so much!
My family recently had a very disappointing experience attempting to adopt a dog named Jax from the Connecticut Humane Society in Waterford. My husband and daughter brought our other dog, a cockapoo, for a meet-and-greet. Staff said our dog seemed scared and barked, which is not unusual when dogs are first introduced. No aggression occurred. Based on this interaction, they were denied the adoption. Wanting to keep Jax in the family, I later attempted to adopt him myself. I do not have any dogs in my home. However, I was told by the Assistant Shelter Manager that I could not adopt Jax because my daughter had previously tried to adopt him. However, I could adopt any other dog. How does that even make sense???? I was not given a clear explanation as to why this disqualified me, especially s

We have visited many times. My girl scout troop has donated and gotten an awesome behind the scenes tour. Now we have a great new family member!
