After moving back to Fauquier County, I was honestly nervous about finding a new vet for my three cats (I’m a very anxious cat mom!). From the very first visit, I felt completely at ease. The reception staff are always kind, welcoming, and truly compassionate. What really solidified my trust was when my one-year-old Ragdoll became suddenly ill. They were able to fit us in the same day, and Dr. Gordon went above and beyond. She ran tests immediately, stayed well past closing, and quickly discovered he had elevated kidney levels very unusual for his age. She sent him home with treatment and medications that helped tremendously. When he needed follow-up care and subcutaneous fluids, they accommodated us again even on a busy Saturday. One of our almost 13 year old pups came down with an autoimmune disease and she had been fighting it since August of 2025. I believe it was Dr. Lisa Gibson who was able to figure out why our Patches was so sick. Unfortunately January 5th of this year my husband had to make the hardest decision. We had to put our sweet Patches to sleep. Dr. Julia Gibson had also been following and seeing her as well. That day we saw Dr. Julia Gibson. She was so sweet and kind and kept the best interest of Patches at heart. She was honest with us. She answered all of our questions. My husband had a lot and she was patient and kind. She let us take our time to figure this all out because we were just hoping and praying we could get some better news even though deep down we all knew what was best for her and t

So thankful for Dr.Gibson and Dr.J- for 18 years we have called Compassion animal hospital our veterinary home. Over those 18 years they have seen our dogs, cats, pet Turkey, a few chickens, and more I know I’m forgetting. We feel SO dang fortunate to have their skill, expertise, and compassion when treating our animal babies. Dr.Gibson has seen us thur so many hard times, some of which were surrounded by our sweet special needs dog ducky ♥️ & in the last few weeks treating our Gizmo, Dr.J and Dr. Gibson haven’t missed a beat helping us to treat his broken foot. Our family couldn’t recommend a better small family vet practice, they truly have hearts of gold, their love, hard-work, and dedication truly shows in the outcomes of their animal patients ♥️

Compassion does an amazing job with my cats, my little Boston, and my big 90lb Cane Corso. Excellent price, nice, kind, friendly. One of my favorite vet offices of all time, especially Dr. J.

The first time I came here was 3 years ago. My Frenchie had hurt her back and needed to be seen. The vet was supposed to do radiographs, but changed her mind and sent her home with prednisone. I ended up taking her to a different vet who diagnosed her with IVDD. I refused to take our furry family there after that. Fast forward three years and my dog needs to be seen again. I called our vet (Catlett Animal Hospital), and I am told they have nothing available.The receptionist then tells me an appointment was available at their affiliate, Compassion Animal. I expressed my reservations, but I was assured things would be fine. No, no they were not. I thought I had a nice conversation with the assistant, but I was wrong.
